Drei

PEOPLE ARE STRANGE, WHEN YOU'RE A STRANGER

Name: Drei

Gender: Male

Species: Kiamara

Body Shape: Drei is slightly smaller than the average kiamara. He's scrawny and doesn't seem capable of doing much, but looks can be deceiving. He has a slender body that appears to be 'built for speed'.

Voice: Drei speaks with a slight German accent, but he is perfectly understandable and it doesn't get in the way whatsoever. As 'himself', he usually speaks quietly no matter what. If he's anxious, he tends to speak quicker and stutter more. If he's calm, he tends to speak much more slowly and almost sounds monotonous. Either way, he often pauses in random parts of his sentences.

Quirks/Habits: When he's calm, Drei not only speaks slowly, but often moves slowly as well. Some have compared him to a phantom, and he is also more likely to zone out.

He has several nervous habits which include digging/pawing at the ground, making short noises similar to humming, and will sometimes even cry out if he's that unsettled.

When Drei is supicious of someone, doesn't know what to say, doesn't want to talk, etc., he tends to stare without saying a word.

Posture: When around strangers, Drei speedwalks with his head low with his tail drooping on the groud. When calm or with his 'companions' (the hallucinations he has befriended), Drei's gait becomes much more confident. He walks pretty much like any other kiamara, except he almost appears to be gliding and appears stiff.

WHAT LAYS INSIDE

Personality: Drei is not the easiest guy to comprehend. He suffers from schizophrenia, although he doesn't believe the fact himself. He gets very offended when called strange, insane, when told he has schizophrenia, or anything else along the lines. That and calling his closest companion fictional is the quickest way to start 'the countdown', which will be explained to the left.

He is very much antisocial; years upon years of receiving odd looks, mockery, and other insults have caused this. This has also led to him being very awkward in times of social interaction, and these are the times he's more likely to become uneasy. When speaking to those he isn't comfortable around, which is pretty much everyone, he avoids eye contact, speaks quickly, tries to drop the conversation as soon as possible, and will usually do one of his nervous habits. If someone is actually able to befriend Drei, he becomes clingy, loyal, and enjoys playing. This is a rare occurence though, since Drei usually isn't even able to calm down enough in order to be befriended around most strangers.

Speaking of which, he is at his calmest when he's alone..in anybody else's eyes. For in Drei's mind, he's never really alone. Although he sees and hears various things, Null is the one who he considers his closest 'friend', and who has been around the longest. Since more about this can be found to the left, Null's information shall be left at that in this section. When calm, Drei maintains an expressionless face most of the time. Even when he claims to be 'happy', there is seldom a smile on his face. He still doesn't speak much and tends to stare, but he isn't a nervous wreck during these moments. He does everything more slowly, including how he talks, walks, and simply moves.

...NULL?

"Speaking of which, he is at his calmest when he's alone..in anybody else's eyes. For in Drei's mind, he's never really alone. Although he sees and hears various things, Null is the one who he considers his closest 'friend', and who has been around the longest."

Null is an area of mystery, even to Drei.

Drei thinks of him as an unworldly being. Null appears to be the only figment that Drei has accepted that not everyone can see. He has justified this by claiming that Null only appears to those he wants to see him.

Drei encountered him after his abandonment by his parents, and the day they met, Null promised that if he ever needed him - he were to countdown, and he would take care of things upon reaching zero. The usual protocal is from three to zero in German in order to give a short amount of time for the offender to get away, however in extreme circumstances or when they're extremely agitated, Drei sometimes skips straight to Null's 'calling card', zero.

Upon reaching that final number, Null apparently takes control and the situation can be compared to being possessed.

The two have stuck together ever since.

He serves not only as Drei's friend (in fact, Drei considers him a brother), but as suggested previously, his protector. What is meant by 'taking care of things' can vary between a few bites, a few scratches, or an all-out attack, but never go as far as murder for Drei's sake. Drei is concerned enough for others taking revenge against him for Null hurting them to even think about what would happen if his friend killed another kiamara. Due to this, Null often insists on taking down the bigger prey when hunting in order to blow off steam. Why he has such a craving for violence is unknown, even to Drei. However, it can be assumed that if this Null character had his way, he wouldn't mind going all-out on everyone he came across.

Drei also depends on Null for guidance. Most of his decisions and mindsets are made by his companion, including his decision not to fall in love which Null strongly put across. Drei claims it is to protect him, but even he believes there may be an underlying reason.

Drei describes Null as looking hazy, almost as if he were dreaming. There are two forms he sees him in: one is like himself, but paler - almost like a reflection. The other, which Drei believes is Null's 'true self' due to him also believing he isn't a kiamara, is a shadowy creature he can't identify.
